Hello everyone! My name is Jeff Barko and I am a senior majoring in Supply Chain Management with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. This will be my first year on the SCMA Executive Board and I will be the Director of External Relations. SCMA has provided endless opportunities to grow as a business professional and has also allowed me to get to know many students on a social level.
After my sophomore year, I had the opportunity to join Sherwin-Williams as a Sales/Management Intern in Grand Rapids, MI. This opportunity allowed me to experience how a Fortune 500 company operates on an operational level while focusing on sales. Last summer, I interned at Gordon Food Service in Wyoming, MI as a National Account Coordinator Intern. During my time at Gordon Food Service, I worked on a cross-functional team to improve efficiency in the supply chain throughout Canada. Both my internships, and time with SCMA, has been vital to my success as a Supply Chain Management student.
Joining SCMA has been one of the best decisions I have made throughout my time at MSU. There are endless opportunities to network, get to know other students, volunteer, visit companies, and many other opportunities throughout the year.
I am looking forward to getting to know all members this year and encourage those who are not members to join! If you have any questions regarding school, internships, interviewing, or questions that may not relate to supply chain, I am more than happy to help.
